Practice combined with some threadplay: chickens!

After a pause of almost a year it is nice to sew and quilt again. I still have to unpack almost all my quilt stuff and install everything in my own room. I do not have my favourite fmq-foot and I miss it. But I can quilt with my embroidery foot on my machine. I do not not have my quilttable and in my box are only a few colours of thread, but I love to practice and hear the sound of my machine. It is so relaxing!!!

I sandwiched some white cotton I found and draw a chicken on every sandwich. Some threadplay and than practicing stippling and micro stippling. What a fun.
I did not wait untill I finally can unpack my boxes with fabrics, but bought some yellow fabric to bind these mini-quilts.

I need to practice my 'stippling consistency'.
When I am echoing or when I am micro-stippling I need to slow down the speed of my machine. I heard someone tell in a You Tube fmq video: "Needle fast, hands slow!". I am repeating this mantra when I quilt.  When I am stippling, I am going too fast with my hands and the stitches are too big. So I need to speed up my machine!

I still have my Quilt Along WIP, but the next project will be for my youngest daughter. I will be grandma again within two months! Everything is going allright this time. She looks great and feels great. She 'ordered' a quilt with a big VW-bus. She found it on Pinterest. We bought the fabrics today.

Our VW-bus wil be green.
