In an other country, 250 km from our house!

We are a week in Belgium. Only a two and an half hours ride and we are in an totally different country! We rented a small city house in Jodoigne, a small village near Brussels. We enjoy lovely weather with a blue sky and we walk a lot. The landscape is so different from The Netherlands!

We rented a house for a week at this market place in a small village: Jodoigne. We bought delicious fish this mornig.

In the evening it is dark early and too cold to sit outside. Although we have a tv and computers my husband is reading (or sleeping with his book in his hands) and I .... sewing. I took my machine with me, so I can sew every evening.Just free motion quilting with beautiful colors. Of course with a glass of wine!  Not too much, because I do not want to make mistakes. I finished two samplers and two postcards/mug rugs. A gift for some one. I do not know who yet.

I love these autumn colors although most leaves on the trees are still green. In October! I think I will add some dark red binding when we are in Amsterdam again. On my hollydays just fun stitching!

There went someyhing wrong with the bidding for the house. So we had to look for anotuer house.

  4. Hello Maartje,

What a lovely little place for a quick holiday.

Great quilting, as always. Perhaps I should forget about tea when I work up a thirst at the sewing machine and just crack into the wine. It would be interesting to see what patterns turn up when I start seeing double.

    Love,

  6. Oh, my, Maartje! Those are COOL. It's all done on solid fabric, right? So all the color comes just from the thread? love it!
