How did I manage years ago?

It was topsport this weekend. Taking care of two childs. A very sweet baby, Huub,  and a sweet, cheerful girl, Sascha,  of almost four years. We enjoyed every minute, but we were exhausted! When my two girls were that age, I had to deal with it every day and I went to university to study chemistry while the father of the girls was away nine months of every year! We had this weekend not a moment for ourselves, busy every minute, sleeping very little, how could I study while raising two kids?
But we were so happy to be with my husbands grand children, to walk hand in hand with a little girl with all her questions and stories, to see the smile of the baby boy when he saw us when he awake or when we played with him.

The center is OK the other blocks better than before/Het centrumblok is prima, the rest kan nog wat beter.
But today it is back to normal again and we are sitting at the big table. My husband busy reading all the papers and I sewing another block for the Aiming for Accuracy Quilt Along. I just finished two. Of course I made some mistakes which I could have avoided when I have read the tutorial well and I had to rip some seams, but it is not too bad and it takes less time! I introduced some blue fabrics.
There are more blocks to sew, but I had to prepare dinner and I had to sew a dress for Sascha. It is her birthday next Saturday and she wwants to be a princes with a pink dress. We bought yesterday together the embellishment. Everything pink! I have the fabric already, so I start right away.

And another one!/En nog een!

Four blocks finished/Vier bloken af!

  5. I know exactly what you mean. We have three grandchildren--7, 5, and nearly two. We enjoy every single minute when they are here. At the times they stay overnight, we are totally exhausted after they leave. Your blocks look great. Thanks for linking up!

  9. Hi, Maartje. Lucky Sascha--what a beautiful dress for a little princess! Beautiful blocks, too. I suppose there are reasons why one should have children when one is young.
I had two granddaughters with me most of the summer--was I exhausted!
