Three new mouse pattterns

Finaly it is summer! We had a nice weekend in the Eifel, Germany. with nice walks between heavy thunderstorms. They prevent us to see the vulcano lakes, but we visited 'crime city'  Hillesheim instead. where we enjoyed a luch at 'Caf'e  Sherlock' in the Crime House. This cafe with all the murdr attributes, posters, statues, books crime menu is so fun and they have delicious coffee and cake too.

Eindelijk is het zomer. We hebben een heerlijk weekend gehad in de Eifel in Duitsland  We hebben er gewandeld  tussen de onweersbuien door. We hebben daardoor de vulkaanmeertjes niet bereikt, maar daardoor zijn we wel in  'misdaadstad'  Hillesheim geweest. We hebben er heerlijk gelunched in cafe 'Sherlock'  Tussen de beelden, misdaaadattributen, posters, boeken ....  Gelukkig hadden ze ook heerlijke koffie en gebak.

Enough to see at your table!

I have been busy with Matisse inspired mini's, but I had to test some mice blocks laying next to my sewing machine since April. I designed the patterns for my owl quilt. The owl pattern is already tested and publishedin this post. Yesterday I finaly tested the mices and they are cute! I made some minor changes in the patterns and they are ready to publish. they are ready to publish. I made patterns for 4, 5, 6, 8 and 10 inch blocks.

Ik ben druk geweest met door Matisse mini's. Maar naast mijn machine lagen al die tijd de patroontjes van de muizen voor deze uiltjes quilt. De uil was al getest en het patroon kan gedownload worden van dit bericht, maar de muizenmoesten nog. Ik vind deze muisjes zelf schattig! Het patroon is ook klaar om gepublicerd te worden. De muizenblokken zijn van 4 tot 10 inch groot.

Just a mini mini

A fun little present for another quilter.

Terrible weather. It is spring! Light early in the morning and in the evening, it is sunny but cold and windy. I still wear my wintercoat and some mornings there is even ice on the window of the car!!!! We are busy with babysitting al most every day this week and when we have time we are busy with organizing the redoing of our teracce, which is on the roof of our neighbours. We bought the tiles but we had to get rid of the old tiles, ugly conifers and things we do not need anymore. There is always a lot to decide about things we never heard of.I hope the terrace is finished within two weeks and we can enjoy there beautiful wheather this summer.

Wat een vreselijk lenteweer. Het is wel heerlijk lang licht en we zien de zon geregeld, maar het is koud en winderig. Ik draag mijn winterjas nog regelmatig. Ik heb die jas zeker nodig bij het krabben van ijs van mijn autoruiten!!
We zijn bezig met ons dakterras. Zoveel beslissingen te nemen over dingen waarvan we niet eens wisten dat ze bestonden! De tegels zijn besteld, maar het terras moet nu eerst worden leeg geruimd. Weg die lelijke coniferen nog van de oude bewoners en alle rommel. Ik hoop dat we op ons nieuwe terras van een heerlijke zomer kunnen genieten.

This weekend we were in the house of my husbands sun and taking care of three months old Thom. His big brother Guus was with his other grandparents, so we enjoyed taking care of Thom. We take care of big brother Guus every tuesday. I took with me my sewing machine and some blocks to sew, but no chance. We took our time to play with Thom. The sweet guy let us sleep all night!!
The only thing I finished this week was a mini mini with scraps of my dyed fabric. It is a litle present for someone. I plan to sew some more of this quick little finishes. The mice patterns are ready to publish too, but I had to sew some mice block first.

Dit weekend hebben we op ons jongste kleinkind gepast. Drie maanden oude Thom is een vrolijke, makkelijke baby en we hebben het heerlijk gehad met hem. Ik had mijn naaimachine meegenomen en wat blokken om te naaien, maar het is er niet van gekomen. Teveel met Thom gespeeld! De lieverd liet ons wel de hele nacht slapen,
Het enige wat ik afgemaakt heb deze week, is een mini mini quiltje voor een quiltvriendin. Verder zijn de muizenblokken klaar om te pubiceren, maar ik wil er eerst een paar blokken van naaien.

Ik zag deze cartoon op Belgische blogs en kranten. Ik kan niet tekenen, maar wel een patroon maken om aan de slachtoffers en hun familie te denken.

Happy 2016 with a lot of mad Xmas cows!

to all my followers and visitors!!

My first block this year is this Xmas Mad cow. I used Xmas fabric with patchwork pattern to cut all the templates. In my bin I found a fat quarter for the background. I will sew Xmas cows, bulls and calfs this year for all my children and grandchildren. I love the mad cow family. Next year with Xmas dinner everybody will have his own Xmas Mad cow, calf or bull placemat to take with them after dinner. It is so fun to sew the mad cow familyBut first I need to collect some more Xmas fabrics. I want to use for every family another set of fabrics.

Mijn eerste blok dit jaar is een kerstkoe. Ik heb mijn patchwork stofje gebruikt om alle onderdeeltjes uit te knippen. Ik had nog een fat quarter voor de achtergrond. Volgend jaar met het Kerstdiner wil ik iedereen van de familie een eigen kerstkoe, kerststier of kerstkalf placemat geven, die zij na het diner mee naar huis nemen. Het is zo leuk om de mad cow familie te naaien. Ik moet nog wel wat kerststofjes verzamelen. Elke familie krijgt zijn eigen set met stofjes.

I am thinking of giving the mad cow family a Xmas hat too.

Misschien geef ik de kerstmis koeserie wel allemaal een applique kersthoed.

Mice, skirt and flags!

Mice mini

Busy week with a little bit of sewing and quilting. Little Kate is almost a year and we bought colorfull cottons to sew flags for het birthday and I made a skirt for her with tulle. Little girls overhere love to wear these kinds of skirts and you see them everywhere. Going to the shop to buy fabrics is more time then sewing the skirt! Kate keeps feeling the tulle with big asking eyes.I think she don't like tulle!!

Drukke week met weinig naaien en quilten. Kate is bijna jarig en we hebben kleurrijke katoentjes gekocht voor vlaggen. Ik heb een rokje met tule voor haar genaaid, zoals je hier al die kleine meiden in ziet rondlopen. Nar d winkel gaan en stof kopen duurt langer dan de rok naaien!! Kate blijgt maar aan het tule voelen met vragende ogen. Ik denk niet dat het een goede keus is voor een baby.

Someone who visited my kitten post, asked about mice patterns. A cute idea!!! So I downloaded pictures of mices, played with EQ7 and designed some mice blocks to go with the kittens. But I think I will use the blocks forplacemats for the grandchildren.

Iemand die mijn kittenbericht heeft gelzen, vroeg naar blokken met muizen. Wat een leuk idea! Ik heb dus wat plaatjes van muizen gedownload en een paar blokken gemaakt. Ik ga ze niet gebruiken bij de Kittens, maar voor placemats voor mijn kleinkinderen!

My first free paper piecing patterns

Surprise early in the morning: Kate for her 
the first time on her feet, waits for her mother proudly waving. 

Almost 10 months ago we welcomed little Kate. She is the only grandchild who lives in Amsterdam, so we see her more than the other grandchildren. It is so nice too see her grow and every week there is something else she has learnt. When I go down town, I often drop by my daughter to see little Kate (and of course my daughter). It is so warming, when Kate stretches out her arms to me as soon as she sees me.
In December we hope to welcome another grandchild and we will take care for this baby and her brother Guus every monday. I am sure I will be surprised to see what that little baby learns every week again!

Nog geen tien maanden terug kwam Kate ter wereld en nu staat ze trots naar haar moeder te zwaaien als die haar 's ochtends uit bed haalt! Ze is het enige kleinkind dat in Amsterdam woont, dus we zien haar vaker dan de andere kleinkinderen. Het is zo leuk te zien wat ze steeds bijleert. Als ik de stad in ga, wip ik vaak even langs om mijn kleindochter (en dochter) te zien. Zo hartverwarmend als ze haar armpjes naar me toestrekt, zodra ze me ziet!! In december hopen we weer een kleinkind te krijgen. We zulen er elke maandag op dit kind en broer Guus passen. Zo leuk om elke week weer verrast te zijn, wat dat kleinkind bijleert!
There was little time to sew last week. I was a few days ill and I was busy with patterns. There are only new pottery blocks. It is so fun to sew this blocks. So there is now for the fist time a pile of blocks: crazy cows, a crazy calf, shoes and all kinds of pottery. The cows and shoes are for a quilt. The pottery blocks are for presents like placemats and coasters.
Maar weinig tijd om te naaien van de week. Ik ben en paar dagen ziek geweest en was druk met het maken van patronen.Het is zo leuk om deze blokken te naaien. Ik heb nu ook voor het eerst een hele stapel blokken: gekke koeien, kalfje, schoenen en flink wat diggelwerk. De koeien en schoenen zijn voor een quilt. Het diggelwerk is voor kleinere kadootjes, placemats enzo.

Je moet de laatste tijd die gekke koeien tegen gekomen zijn op Internet. Het is een patroon van piecemealquilts.com. Ik heb een patroon gemaakt van haar gekke zoon of dochter, een kalf. Het patroon van de stier, de gekke vader, is er volgende week.

My first pottery pattern is this fun pattern of the two bowls. A very easy pattern to sew. Just one section!
Mijn eerste diggelwerk patroon is er een van de twee schaaltjes. Het patroon heeft maar één deel en is eenvoudig te naaien.

Next week I try to post the patterns of the mad bull, a boothie and some pottery. Today we are babysitting our grandson Guus. This little guy watched the Dutch Soccer team with his grandpa and they are not very happy. I think the team lost every game after being third at the world championships! Luckily we have 200 m world champion Daphne Schippers to be proud at!

Volgende week post ik de patronen van de gekke stier, een enkelschoentje en wat diggelwerk. Vandaag gaan we oppassen op onze kleinzoon Guus. Hij kijkt hier met opa naar het Nederands voetbalteam en ze zijn diep ongelukkig. Gelukkig hebben we Daphne Schippers om trots op te zijn!!!
